Referees are needed

Every Season we are faced with the challenge of not enough mature referees to cover the U13, U15, and U17 games.

One of the solutions is to encourage parents, older siblings and former players to take the referee clinic.

We also encourage players to consider refereeing. A player can take the course if they turn 13 during 2024. The U15 referees are limited to do U9 and U11 games.

Clinic certification is the first step.

The second step is to attend a session at the covered outdoor box to go over signals, positioning and communication.

The third step is to have the new referees do some games with an experienced referee to gain confidence and comfort in the role of a game official.

During the season former and qualified referees try to attend as many games as possible to mentor new referees.

If you know of anyone who may be interested but would like more information please have them contact ndlaheadref@gmail.com.

I/we consent to allow the Nanaimo District Lacrosse Association to use my player’s name and individual/team photos on the NDLA website and social media platforms. Anyone who does not consent to the use of your player’s name or photos please contact nanaimolacrosse@gmail.com with your player’s name and division.
